How to cancel subscriptions in the UAE

Step 1: find out who bills you

The same Netflix or OSN+ subscription can be billed four ways, and each one is cancelled in a different place.

Apple's support page gives the same advice: if you can't find a receipt, check your bank or card statement to see which company bills you, then contact that company.

Cancel on iPhone, iPad or Mac

Use this when Apple bills you, for example for a subscription you started inside an iPhone app and paid through the App Store.

On iPhone or iPad:

1. Open Settings and tap your name.
2. Tap Subscriptions.
3. Tap the subscription.
4. Tap Cancel Subscription. If there's no Cancel button, or you see an expiry message in red, it is already cancelled.

On a Mac: open the App Store, click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, click your name again, then Subscriptions, choose the subscription and click Cancel Subscription.

On a Windows PC: use the Apple Music or Apple TV app: click your name, choose View My Account, then Manage next to Subscriptions, and Edit, then Cancel Subscription.

Two things Apple's page points out:

• Free trials: to avoid being charged, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
• Family Sharing: only the family member who started a subscription can cancel it.

Cancel in Google Play

Use this when Google Play bills you, for example for a subscription you started inside an Android app and paid through Google Play.

1. Open your subscriptions in Google Play.
2. Select the subscription you want to cancel.
3. Tap Cancel subscription.
4. Follow the instructions.

Google's help page adds:

• Uninstalling the app doesn't cancel the subscription.
• You keep what you paid for. A plan cancelled mid-term stays active until the end of the period you paid for, and you aren't charged again.
• Some purchases may qualify for a refund, under Google Play's refund rules.

Cancel directly with the service

Netflix

1. Sign in and open Manage your membership on your Netflix account.
2. Select Cancel.
3. Select Finish Cancellation.

Netflix emails a confirmation. You can keep watching until the end of the period you paid for. Signing out or deleting the app does not cancel. If you don't see a Cancel option, the Membership section of your Account page tells you which partner bills you; for Netflix on an Etisalat (e&) bill, Netflix's help centre points you to Etisalat on 101.

OSN+

If you pay OSN+ by card, Apple Pay or some mobile operators:

• In the OSN+ app: go to My Library, Settings, Subscription, then Manage Subscription and follow the steps.
• On the web: go to osnplus.com/manage-subscriptions, or Settings, Subscription, Manage Subscription.

If the App Store or Google Play bills you, cancel there, not with OSN+. If du or e& bills you, use the text codes below.

Shahid

Shahid's FAQ says there are no contracts and no exit charges. If you pay by card or by phone:

1. Go to account settings, using the adult profile.
2. Click Subscription Management.
3. Click Cancel subscription.

If you subscribed through the App Store (iTunes) or Google Play, cancel in that store. You keep access until the end of the current subscription period.

Spotify

1. Sign in to your account page on the Spotify website.
2. Under your plan, choose the cancel option.
3. Confirm.

Premium stays until your next billing date, then your account becomes free, with your playlists and saved music kept. If a partner such as a phone company bills you, there is no cancel button: go to Manage your plan, check the Payment section and contact the partner. Spotify's UAE prepaid year doesn't renew by itself, so there is nothing to cancel.

Disney+

1. Go to disneyplus.com and log in.
2. Select your profile.
3. Select Account.
4. Select Cancel Subscription.
5. Select Complete Cancellation to confirm.

It takes effect at the end of your current payment period. If you get Disney+ through a bundle such as Shahid's Epic Bundle or a du plan, cancel or change it with that provider.

Cancel du add-ons and third-party services

du's help centre splits third-party services into three groups, each stopped a different way.

Services billed through 9000:

• Text List to 9000 to see every service you are subscribed to.
• Text a service's number to 9000 to stop that service.
• Text stopall to 9000 to stop all of them.

Services billed through 9820: text the service's code to 9820. For example, du's page gives UNSUB CASHIVR for the CashMania contest, UNSUB Movie for Movie and UNSUB Music for Music. Its page lists the code for each 9820 service.

In-app subscriptions (Apple, Google Play or Huawei) can only be cancelled in that app store. du's page repeats the iPhone and Google Play steps above.

du also says you can unsubscribe from third-party services in the du app. For OSN+ on your du bill, use the STOP codes in the OSN+ section.

Cancel e& add-ons

• OSN+ on your e& bill: send STOP OSN, or STOP OSN4k for Premium, to 1741 (from OSN+'s help centre, above).
• STARZPLAY with an e& postpaid plan: e&'s offer FAQ says you can manage the subscription at any time from the e& UAE app, and that no exit charge applies to cancelling STARZPLAY. (e& STARZPLAY offer FAQs, opened 16 Oct 2026)
• Netflix on your Etisalat bill: Netflix's help centre points you to Etisalat customer support on 101.

After you cancel

• Keep the confirmation email or screenshot until the next billing date has passed.
• Check your next statement or phone bill to make sure the charge has stopped.
• Don't rely on deleting the app. Netflix's and Google Play's help pages both say it doesn't cancel.
• Mind the end date. Most services let you use what you paid for until the period ends; Spotify notes that a free trial you cancel ends straight away.
