Quick answer

These pages explain how to check and pay the main UAE household bills, DEWA, SEWA, ADDC (now TAQA Distribution), du, Etisalat by e& and Empower, and when each is due. Rasid is a separate app that tracks these bills from Gmail or by hand and reminds you three days before they're due. It does not pay bills.

Charges that ride on utility bills

Some fees for other bodies are collected on your electricity and water bill:

  • Dubai: DEWA's bill carries the Dubai Municipality housing fee, 5% of your annual rent in 12 monthly instalments, and a sewerage charge worked out from your water use. Some DEWA bills also carry district cooling at Nakheel's rate (DEWA, Bill Explanation).
  • Abu Dhabi: TAQA Distribution's bill includes a municipality service section with your contract value, the annual municipality charge and its monthly instalments (TAQA Distribution, Understand your bill).

Guides

How Rasid keeps track of your UAE bills

Rasid is an app that keeps household bills and subscriptions in one place.

  • Add a bill by hand. Rasid's UAE list covers electricity and water, internet and mobile, district cooling, gas, insurance, building service charges, credit cards and pay-later instalments. Pick a provider, or choose Other and type the bill's name, then enter the amount, and the due date and account number if you have them.
  • Or let Gmail fill it in. With read-only Gmail access, Rasid looks for bill emails from DEWA, SEWA, TAQA Distribution and ADDC, Etisalat by e&, du, Empower, Emicool, Tasleem and Etihad Water and Electricity, and reads the amount and, when the email shows it, the due date.
  • Get reminded before it's due. For a bill with a due date, Rasid sends a reminder three days before, at 10:00.
  • See what changed. With more than one bill from a provider, Rasid shows recent bills side by side, the average, and how much more or less the latest one is than the last.
  • Pay on the provider's own page. If the payment link in a bill email can be confirmed as the provider's own, the bill shows a Pay button that opens that page. You can mark a bill as paid.

Rasid does not pay bills, and it is not affiliated with any of these providers. Its Gmail access is read-only, so it cannot send, delete or change your email. Read more in the privacy policy.

FAQ

Which UAE bills can Rasid track?

Any bill you add by hand, from a UAE list that covers electricity and water, internet and mobile, district cooling, gas, insurance, service charges, credit cards and pay-later plans. With Gmail connected, Rasid also finds bills emailed by DEWA, SEWA, TAQA Distribution, e&, du, Empower and others.

Does Rasid pay my bills?

No. Rasid reminds you before each bill is due and shows how it compares with earlier bills. You pay each provider through its own app, website or payment partners.

How does Rasid find my bills in Gmail?

You give Rasid read-only access to Gmail. It looks for bill emails from the providers' own addresses and reads the amount and due date; it cannot send, delete or change any email.

When is my DEWA bill due?

DEWA's due date gives you 14 days from the bill to pay, and the exact date is printed on the bill. Etisalat by e& asks for payment before the 15th of each month.

Can I add a UAE bill that isn't in Rasid's list?

Yes. Choose Other on Rasid's Add bill screen, type the bill's name and amount, and add the due date and account number if you have them.
