How Rasid checks UAE subscription prices
Last checked
Quick answer
Every price comes from the provider's own UAE page or its UAE App Store listing, read from a UAE connection, and is shown with the day it was read. New and changed prices are checked by a second reader. Rasid never converts a price from another currency.
Where prices come from
- The provider's own page for the UAE. Never a news site, a comparison site or a reseller. Where the provider's page prints US dollars for the UAE, dollars are what we show.
- The UAE App Store listing, for people who pay through Apple, in its own table. An item counts only when its name says both the plan and the term.
- The regular price, not an introductory offer.
How each price is checked
Every new or changed price is read a second time by an independent reader, and the page text it was read from is kept as evidence. A price whose two readings disagree is not changed; it waits for a person.
Today the catalogue holds 56 services and 196 dated price readings.
How often prices are re-read
Every week. Each price is shown with the day it was read. A price read more than 30 days ago is labelled "may have changed" until it is read again.
When a price changes
The new price is added to the service's price history with its date, the change in percent and its source, and to the list of UAE price increases.
A change goes live by itself only when both readings agree, the evidence is saved and the price moved 30% or less. Anything else waits for a person to approve it.
Changes we did not read ourselves are labelled "reported", with the publication that reported them.
Use the data
The whole catalogue is published as one file: rasid.app/data/catalog/AE.json. The Rasid app reads the same file.
Rasid is not affiliated with any of the services listed.
