What each change means
Spotify. Khaleej Times reported the rise on 17 August 2025, saying existing subscribers had a one-month grace period to cancel before the higher rate. Spotify's UAE page now sells Premium Standard, Platinum and Student; see our Spotify page.
Disney+. Disney's UAE help centre said prices were revised for the UAE and several other countries in the region: new subscribers from 30 September 2025, and existing direct subscribers at their first bill on or after 4 November 2025. People who pay through a partner were told to check with that partner. See our Disney+ page.
Changes we could not confirm
We leave these out of the list above until a provider page or a second reliable source confirms them.
- Netflix in the UAE. We found no reliable report of a Netflix price change in dirhams. Netflix's UAE help page listed Basic at AED 35, Standard AED 49 and Premium AED 71 on 6 October 2026.
- Careem Plus. Careem's help centre says AED 29 a month, while its food page still showed AED 19 on 6 October 2026. That looks like an old banner, not a confirmed price change.

How to see a price rise before you pay it
Providers usually announce a rise by email, a few weeks before your next bill. Apple and Google Play send their own notice when they bill you.
- Read the notice for three things: the old price, the new price and the date it starts.
- Decide before that date: keep it, move to a smaller or yearly plan, or cancel. Our cancellation guide has the steps for the App Store, Google Play, du and e&.
- Check your statement after: the first bill at the new price is where a missed notice shows up.

Did Netflix raise prices in the UAE?
We have not found a reliable report of a Netflix price change in dirhams. Netflix's UAE help page listed Basic at AED 35, Standard at AED 49 and Premium at AED 71 a month on 6 October 2026. Netflix raised US prices in January 2025 and March 2026.
When does a subscription price increase start for me?
Usually at your first billing date after the provider's notice. Disney+, for example, charged existing direct subscribers the revised price from their first bill on or after 4 November 2025. The notice email gives your date; Apple's and Google Play's notices do too.
Can I avoid a subscription price increase?
You can cancel before the new price starts, or move to a cheaper plan of the same service. Paying yearly where the provider offers it means the next rise reaches you only at renewal. Khaleej Times reported that Spotify gave existing UAE subscribers a month to cancel before its 2025 rise.
How does Rasid know about a price increase?
