Subscription and bill trackers that don't ask for your bank login

Quick answer
You can track subscriptions and bills without giving any app your bank password. Rasid reads your billing email in Gmail, read-only, and the PDF statements you upload; Bobby, Subby, Subo, Orbit, TrackMySubs, Kamm, Malii, SubTracker and Flowdue work from what you add. In the UAE, Rasid is the one that also reads DEWA, SEWA, du and Etisalat (e&) bills and card statements from seven UAE banks.
What a bank login means
Some trackers find your subscriptions by connecting to your bank. You sign in to your bank inside the app, usually through a connection provider, and the app then reads the transactions on your accounts and cards to spot what repeats.
- Rocket Money connects accounts through Plaid. Its help centre says "we never store your bank login information": it goes to Plaid instead.
- In the UK, Emma and Snoop connect through Open Banking.
This works well where it's supported: a linked account shows a card charge even when no email ever arrived. It also means a few things worth knowing before you sign in:
- The app keeps access to your transactions for as long as the connection stays on, through a connection provider the app chose.
- It works only with the banks the provider supports. Rocket Money's help centre says it is only available to users in the United States with US-based banks.
- Connections can drop. Rocket Money's help centre has an article for linked accounts that get "frequently disconnected", and the fix is to link them again.
None of this makes linking a bank wrong. It is a choice about what you share, and some people would rather not make it.
How Rasid works instead
Rasid never asks for a bank password, card number or OTP. It works from three things you already have:
- Billing email, read-only. Rasid asks for read-only access to Gmail and searches only for billing mail: receipts, invoices, statements and price notices. It cannot send, change or delete a message. It keeps amounts, dates and the sender's domain, never an email's subject or body, and you can revoke access in your Google account at any time.
- A statement you upload. Upload a PDF card statement from Emirates NBD, Mashreq, ADCB, FAB, ADIB, RAKBANK or HSBC UAE, and Rasid reads the total due, the minimum due and the payment date. Spreadsheets (.xlsx, .xls, .csv or a Google Sheet shared by link) and screenshots work too.
- Bills you add yourself. Anything else, typed in once.
How bill alerts work without a bank login
The date a bill is due is in the bill. When DEWA, SEWA, du or Etisalat (e&) emails a bill, Rasid reads the amount and the due date and reminds you three days before, by default. A card statement gives the payment date and the minimum due. A subscription receipt gives the renewal date. When a provider, Apple or Google Play emails a new price, Rasid shows it with the date it starts. None of it needs your bank.
Household bills in one place
Rasid keeps utilities, telecoms, card statements and subscriptions in one list, and Spaces keep personal, family and business apart. See which UAE bills Rasid reads.

FAQ
What is the best bill tracker with no bank login?
In the UAE, Rasid: it reads DEWA, SEWA, du and Etisalat (e&) bills from their emails and card statements from seven UAE banks, with read-only Gmail access and no bank login. If you'd rather type everything in, Subby, Subo, Bobby and Kamm are lists you keep yourself.
Is there a bill tracker that doesn't need my bank password?
Yes. Rasid, Bobby, Subby, Subo, Orbit, TrackMySubs, Kamm, Malii, SubTracker and Flowdue all work without your bank password. Rasid reads billing email; the others work from what you add or import.
How can I track subscriptions safely without a bank login?
Use a tracker that reads what you already receive, or one you fill in yourself. Give email access only if it is read-only and limited to billing mail, check that you can revoke it, and read what the app keeps. Rasid keeps amounts, dates and the sender's domain, never the email itself.
What are the pros and cons of connecting bank accounts to a bill tracker?
The pro: the app sees every card charge, even ones that never sent an email. The cons: it keeps access to your transactions through a connection provider, it works only with banks that provider supports, and connections can drop and need linking again.
Email-based bill tracking or a bank credential app?
Email-based tracking reads receipts, bills and price notices, so it can show a price rise before it is charged and works with any bank. A bank-linked app reads transactions, so it catches charges that send no email. In the UAE, the big bills (DEWA, du, Etisalat) arrive by email.
How do automated bill alerts work without a bank login?
The due date is in the bill itself. Rasid reads it from the provider's email or your uploaded statement and reminds you three days before, by default. No bank connection is involved.
What is the best privacy-first subscription management app?
It depends on what you want to share. Subby and Subo keep your list on your device and read nothing. Rasid reads billing mail, read-only, shows no ads and keeps figures, never emails. Rocket Money and Emma read your bank transactions.
