Rasid vs Subo

Quick answer
Subo is a subscription tracker for iPhone, iPad and Mac where you add each subscription, trial or bill yourself, without connecting your bank, and your data stays on your device or in your iCloud. Rasid is an iPhone app for the UAE that finds subscriptions and DEWA, du and Etisalat (e&) bills in Gmail and UAE card statements, also with no bank login. Choose Subo for a calm list you keep, Rasid to have UAE bills found for you.
What each app does
Subo is made independently by Niclas Schmidt (Gestalt Labs). Its App Store listing says you can "Track and manage subscriptions, free trials, memberships, prepaid plans, app subscriptions, and recurring bills in one private place, without connecting your bank account." It shows what's next on a timeline and a calendar, reminds you before renewals, charges, trial endings and plan endings, and has Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets. Its site says automatic import is "Not yet" available: "Subo is currently built around manual tracking."
Rasid starts from what has already arrived. With your permission it searches Gmail, read-only, for billing mail: receipts, invoices, statements and price notices. It works out the amount and the date, and you confirm each find before it's tracked. It also reads PDF card statements from seven UAE banks, spreadsheets and screenshots, and you can add anything by hand.
Everything below about Subo comes from its App Store listings in the US and the UAE and its website, opened on 21 October 2026.

Where Subo is the better choice
- You want it on iPad and Mac too. Subo runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Vision. Rasid is on iPhone only for now.
- You want nothing to leave your devices. Subo keeps your data on your device or in your own iCloud, has no ads, and its site says it doesn't sell your data.
- You track prepaid and fixed-term plans. Subo tracks active, inactive, prepaid and fixed-term plans, and shows when a plan ends.
- You'd rather type things in. Its site says Subo is "built around manual tracking, so you stay in control of what gets added."
Where Rasid is the better choice
- You don't know everything you pay for. Rasid finds subscriptions in your billing mail. A list you keep has only what you remember.
- Your biggest bills are UAE utilities and cards. Rasid reads DEWA, SEWA, du and Etisalat (e&) bills and seven UAE banks' card statements, and reminds you before each is due.
- You want price rises shown early. Rasid shows a new price when the provider, Apple or Google Play emails it, with the date it starts.

- Join the waitlist below. Rasid is free during early access.
- Connect Gmail. Rasid searches your billing mail and lists each subscription and bill it finds. You confirm each one before it's tracked.
- Add what's left. Type in anything Gmail didn't have, or import a spreadsheet: Rasid reads .csv, .xlsx and .xls files and shows what it found first.
- Keep both for a month if you like, until Rasid's reminders have covered a full cycle.
What we couldn't confirm
- Whether Subo can export your list. The pages we read don't say.
- Subo had 1 rating on the UAE App Store and 79 on the US one when we checked.
FAQ
Is there a Subo alternative that doesn't require a bank login?
Subo itself doesn't require one, and neither does Rasid. Rasid reads billing email from Gmail, read-only, and takes PDF statements, spreadsheets and screenshots. Subby, Orbit and Bobby also work without a bank login.
Rasid or Subo: which is better?
Subo is better for a private, hand-kept list across iPhone, iPad and Mac. Rasid is better for a UAE household that wants subscriptions, DEWA, du and e& bills and card statements found in Gmail, with reminders. Both work without a bank login.
How do I switch from Subo to Rasid?
Join the Rasid waitlist, connect Gmail when you're in, and confirm the subscriptions and bills Rasid finds. Add anything else by hand or from a spreadsheet.
Is Subo free?
Subo is free for up to 6 subscriptions. On 21 October 2026 the UAE App Store listed Subo Unlimited as a Lifetime Pass at AED 129.99, 12 months at AED 34.99 or 3 months at AED 14.99, none renewing automatically. Rasid is free during early access.
Does Subo cancel subscriptions for me?
No. Its site says cancellations still happen through the service you subscribed to. Rasid doesn't cancel either; it reminds you before a renewal and shows how to cancel with the provider.
