Rasid vs Subby

Quick answer

Subby is a subscription and bill tracker for iPhone and Android where you add each payment yourself, from a list of 600+ brands, with no bank login and no account. Rasid is an iPhone app for the UAE that finds subscriptions and DEWA, du and Etisalat (e&) bills in Gmail and card statements, also with no bank login. Choose Subby for a private list you keep, Rasid to have UAE bills found for you.

What each app does

Subby keeps a list you build. Its App Store listing says "You add each subscription yourself, from 600+ brands with logos built in, and your list stays on your iPhone." It reminds you before each charge, totals 46 currencies, and its Insights flag prices that crept up, from the payments you log. Subby PRO can read a screenshot of a bill or a confirmation email and fill in the details, which you check before saving.

Rasid starts from what has already arrived. With your permission it searches Gmail, read-only, for billing mail: receipts, invoices, statements and price notices. It works out the amount and the date, and you confirm each find before it's tracked. It also reads PDF card statements from seven UAE banks, spreadsheets and screenshots, and you can add anything by hand.

Everything below about Subby comes from its App Store listings in the US and the UAE, its website and its privacy policy, opened on 21 October 2026.

Where Subby is the better choice

  • You want nothing to leave your phone. Subby has no account, and its privacy policy says your list is stored on your device and "We never receive it."
  • You use Android or a Mac. Subby runs on both. Rasid is on iPhone only for now.
  • You want Arabic. Arabic is among Subby's App Store languages. Rasid does not state Arabic yet.
  • You track in many currencies. Subby adds up 46 currencies in one total.
  • You'd rather pay once. Subby PRO is a single purchase, not a subscription.

Where Rasid is the better choice

  • You don't know everything you pay for. Rasid finds subscriptions in your billing mail. A list you keep has only what you remember.
  • Your biggest bills are UAE utilities and cards. Rasid reads DEWA, SEWA, du and Etisalat (e&) bills and seven UAE banks' card statements, and reminds you before each is due.
  • You'd rather not retype bills. Rasid reads each DEWA or du bill from the email the provider sends.

Privacy, in each app's words

Both apps avoid bank logins. They differ in what they read.

  • Subby has no account and no server copy of your list. Screenshot import, a PRO feature, sends the one image you pick to Subby's server, which passes it to OpenAI to read; the image isn't stored. The free version shows ads, and its App Store privacy label lists purchases, identifiers and usage data as data that may be used to track you.
  • Rasid asks for read-only Gmail access and searches only billing mail. It keeps amounts, dates and the sender's domain, never an email's subject or body. It shows no ads, and you can revoke its access in your Google account at any time.

So if you want a privacy-first alternative to Subby that still finds things for you, the question is whether you're comfortable with read-only access to billing mail. If you aren't, a list you keep yourself, like Subby, is the stricter choice.

Bobby and Subby

Bobby and Subby are both lists you fill in yourself, and neither connects to a bank. They differ in platforms, languages and how you pay.

Rasid differs from both in two ways. It finds subscriptions for you, from billing mail, still with no bank login. And it reads the UAE bills a list app leaves to you: DEWA, SEWA, du, Etisalat (e&) and Empower from their emails, and card statements from seven UAE banks. See Rasid vs Bobby.

Switching from Subby to Rasid

Rasid is in early access on iPhone. To move across:

  1. Join the waitlist below. Rasid is free during early access.
  2. Connect Gmail. Rasid searches your billing mail and lists each subscription and bill it finds. You confirm each one before it's tracked.
  3. Add what's left. Type in anything Gmail didn't have, or import a spreadsheet: Rasid reads .csv, .xlsx and .xls files and shows what it found first. Subby can export your payment history as a CSV file.
  4. Keep both for a month if you like, until Rasid's reminders have covered a full cycle.

What we couldn't confirm

  • Whether Subby reads any bill on its own. The pages we read describe adding by hand or from a screenshot, and don't name UAE providers.
  • Subby had no ratings on the UAE App Store when we checked.
  • Another App Store app is called "Subby - Subscription Manager". This page is about Subby from subby.online.

FAQ

Is there a Subby alternative without a bank login?

Yes. Rasid doesn't ask for a bank login either: it reads billing email from Gmail, read-only, and also takes PDF statements, spreadsheets and screenshots. Bobby, Subo and Orbit are other trackers that work without one.

Rasid vs Subby: which is better for UAE bills?

Rasid, if your bills are DEWA, SEWA, du or Etisalat (e&): it reads them from the emails those providers send and reminds you before each is due. In Subby you add each bill by hand. Subby suits a private list across iPhone and Android.

Is there a privacy-first alternative to Subby?

Subby is itself private by design: no account, and your list stays on your device. Rasid is private in a different way: read-only access to billing mail only, no ads, and it keeps figures, never your emails. Choose by whether you want things found for you.

Bobby or Subby: which subscription tracker is better?

Both are lists you keep yourself with no bank connection. Bobby is on iPhone, Mac and Apple Vision with one-time packs from AED 2.99. Subby adds Android, Arabic and 46 currencies, is free with ads, and PRO is AED 89.99 once on the UAE App Store.

Is Subby free?

Yes, with ads. Subby PRO, a one-time purchase, removes the ads and adds screenshot import, cloud backup and widgets. It was USD 22.99 on the US App Store and AED 89.99 on the UAE App Store on 21 October 2026. Rasid is free during early access.

How do I switch from Subby to Rasid?

Join the Rasid waitlist, connect Gmail when you're in, and confirm the subscriptions and bills Rasid finds. Add anything else by hand or from a spreadsheet. Subby can export your payment history as a CSV file.
