Your ADDC bill, now TAQA Distribution: how to check and pay it

Last checked

Quick answer

ADDC and AADC merged into TAQA Distribution, which now bills water and electricity in Abu Dhabi. Check and pay your bill in the TAQA Distribution app or online account, by Autopay or direct debit, by calling 800 2332, at MBME kiosks, or through TAMM. Rasid, a separate app, can remind you three days before it's due.

ADDC is now TAQA Distribution

Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADDC) and Al Ain Distribution Company (AADC) began merging in January 2025 under one brand, TAQA Distribution (ADDC, Merger). The UAE government portal now describes TAQA Distribution as the company responsible for the power and water distribution networks in the emirate of Abu Dhabi (u.ae, Public utilities). TAQA Distribution's residential website still uses addc.ae pages for payments, tariffs and the bill guide (TAQA Distribution, Residential).

How to check your ADDC bill

  • Online account or app. To view or pay bills on the website you need an online account, which you can activate on TAQA Distribution's site. The TAQA Distribution mobile app, for Android and iPhone, lets you pay bills, check your consumption and update your details (TAQA Distribution, Payment options).
  • By phone or chat. TAQA Distribution's call centre number is 800 2332. Online chat is open 08:00 to 20:00, Monday to Saturday (TAQA Distribution, Rates and tariffs 2025).

How to pay your ADDC bill

TAQA Distribution lists these ways to pay (TAQA Distribution, Payment options):

  • Pay online, once, for one or more properties, after logging in.
  • Autopay with a GCC-issued debit or credit card, on a date you choose each month.
  • The TAQA Distribution app.
  • By phone on 800 2332, with your account number and credit card ready.
  • Direct debit from your bank account, taken every time a bill is generated. Register on the website, in the app or through the contact centre.
  • Partner banks, including at their ATMs and by phone or internet banking, where the bank allows it.
  • MBME smart kiosks across the UAE: enter your TAQA Distribution account number and pay the full outstanding amount in cash.
  • One Prepay at some groceries and supermarkets.
  • Exchange houses: Lulu International Exchange, Al Ansari Exchange, Lari Exchange, Al Fardan Exchange and Index Exchange.
  • TAMM, the Abu Dhabi government services portal, if you have a TAMM account.

If you are in financial difficulty, TAQA Distribution has an application for an instalment payment arrangement. It also offers a bill smoothing service (TAQA Distribution, Account management and bills).

What's on an ADDC bill

TAQA Distribution's bill guide describes these parts (TAQA Distribution, Understand your bill):

  • Customer details: your account number, the bill number, the tariff type, the date the bill was issued and the payment due date.
  • Your services: icons for each service on the bill, for example electricity, water, municipality fees, waste water and waste.
  • Total to pay by the due date: the current amount, including any balance carried over from the last bill, with VAT.
  • Breakdown of charges, each including VAT at the standard rate of 5%.
  • Usage: meter readings, units used, the days in the billing period, and how your average daily use compares with the same period last year. TAQA Distribution notes the government subsidises your electricity and water bills.
  • Adjustments and corrections, for example for an earlier overestimate.
  • Municipality service bill: your contract value, the annual municipality charge and its monthly instalments.

Bills usually come month by month, but some cover a longer or shorter period. If no actual reading was possible, the bill uses an estimate based on your usual use and says so (TAQA Distribution, Understand your bill).

ADDC tariffs (Rates and tariffs 2025)

TAQA Distribution prices residential water and electricity in two bands. You pay the lower Green rate up to a daily allowance, and the higher Red rate above it. The allowance depends on whether you live in a villa or an apartment, and rates differ for UAE nationals and expatriates. A UAE national can choose one residential property to be billed at the national tariff (TAQA Distribution, Rates and tariffs 2025).

Recycled water is AED 1.7 per m³ for both. The page notes that from 1 January 2018 charges are inclusive of VAT at 5% (TAQA Distribution, Rates and tariffs 2025). This is the tariff page TAQA Distribution's current help pages link to.

When is an ADDC bill due

The payment due date is printed in the customer details on your bill, and the total shown there is what you need to pay by that date (TAQA Distribution, Understand your bill). With Autopay, the payment runs on the date you chose; with direct debit, at each bill (TAQA Distribution, Payment options).

Why your ADDC bill went up

TAQA Distribution gives these reasons a bill can be higher or lower than expected (TAQA Distribution, Account management and bills, FAQ):

  • a change to your tariff;
  • an estimated bill, or an earlier estimate that differed from your actual use;
  • the time of year, for example air conditioning in summer;
  • a change in your usage, such as visitors staying or new appliances;
  • water leaks.

If you received an estimated bill, you don't need to do anything: the bill after your next meter reading is adjusted for any overpayment or underpayment. If you still think the meter is wrong, call 800 2332 or email TAQA Distribution. If the investigation finds the meter is not faulty, you pay a call-out fee; if it is faulty, you don't (TAQA Distribution, Account management and bills, FAQ).

Get a reminder before your ADDC bill is due

Rasid is an app that keeps household bills and subscriptions in one place. For TAQA Distribution it can:

  • Track the bill. Add TAQA Distribution by hand from Rasid's list of UAE providers (searching ADDC or AADC finds it too), or connect Gmail with read-only access. Rasid then looks for the bills ADDC or TAQA Distribution emails you and reads the amount and, when the email shows it, the due date.
  • Remind you before it's due. For a bill with a due date, Rasid sends a reminder three days before, at 10:00.
  • Show what changed. Once Rasid has more than one bill for the account, the bill's screen shows recent bills side by side, the average, and how much more or less this bill is than the last.
  • Send you to TAQA Distribution to pay. If the payment link in the bill email can be confirmed as the sender's own, the bill shows a Pay button that opens that page. You can also mark the bill as paid.

Rasid does not pay bills. You pay TAQA Distribution directly, through its own channels. Rasid's Gmail access is read-only, so it cannot send, delete or change your email.
